Martha Cox is Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Cox is known for her longitudinal studies of families and children and for her methodological contributions to the analysis of family interactions. She is one of the Investigators of the NICHD-funded Family Life Project, a program project investigating the development of children in poor, rural settings. She was one of 10 principal investigators in the NICHD Study of Early Child Care, a groundbreaking study of children from birth through high school, considering children’s development within family, childcare, and school settings. She is the Principal Investigator of the NSF-funded North Carolina Child Development Research Collaborative (CDRC). She also directs the NICHD-funded Carolina Consortium on Human Development T32 training program at the CDS.
