Research Interests & Goals:
Deborah Jones is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Jones’ research interests focus on the family transmission of mental and physical health in underserved and at-risk families, with a particular focus on the role of parenting and co-parenting, as well as the role of child maltreatment and exposure to violence in the home and community. In addition to her basic research, Dr. Jones’ work is increasingly focused on the development and implementation of family-focused prevention and intervention programming designed to engage and retain vulnerable children and families.
